If you want to owner surrender a German Shepherd to the German Shepherd Rescue of Southern New Mexico, Inc., you need to send us an email to the rescue email address: gsrescuesnm@gmail.com providing pictures of the dog and a brief description of the story of why you want to surrender the dog and tell us about the dog, i.e., good with cats, good with other dogs, good with children, likes riding car, etc.
It used to be that we had a rescue for a month, now they can be with us for up to a year before we find them a home, therefore space is limited in our rescue, so you will be placed on a waiting list. We are a German Shepherd Rescue, therefore, registered German Shepherds will go to the top of the list. If your German Shepherd is not registered it does not mean we will not have a space, but we do not take in those that are mixed with another breed. It is very important that you send good pictures.
You will be required to complete an owner surrender form and provide any medical records to us.
Unfortunately with the economy the way it is we cannot take in as many as we used to.
